Pending home sales rise
According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), pending home sales (those homes that have a written contract) were up 3.6% in June from May and 6.7% higher than a year ago.
Low interest combined with an up to $8,000 tax incentive and a large selection of affordable homes, are bringing more potential homebuyers into the market.
This is the 5th consecutive monthly gain. The last one was in July 2003, according to NAR.
NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun noted “It appears home sales are on a sounder footing and inventory is gradually being absorbed”
